This page is devoted to light and sports aircraft, (generally) of the kind that frequent small airfields
and the like up and down the country.
While I still favour airshows above all else when it comes to absorbing myself in aviation, a day
or even just an hour spent at an airfield can prove rewarding, relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable, with added bonuses including
unpredictability (i.e., you never quite know what's going to turn up), and the chance to photograph aircraft in more informal
and less crowded circumstances.
Moreover, given the awful summer 2008 weather and its negative effects on a number of airshows,
I've found that this year, my airfield trips have been especially satisfying.
While several of the photographs below were taken at airshows, they have been included on the
basis of subject matter.
These, and the rest, exist as a little showcase both for the light aviation scene in the UK, and
for the good photo opportunities that smaller airfields can provide.
